Community - 2027 Australia Day Awards

The Whitsunday Regional Council Australia Day Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements and contributions of individuals and organisations across our region.

These awards provide a platform to publicly honour those who have made a remarkable impact or are exceptional achievers within our community.

If you know someone or a community group committed to making the Whitsunday region a better place, we invite you to nominate them for an Australia Day Award and help us celebrate their efforts.

Before completing this application form, you should have read the program guidelines.

This section of the application form is designed to help you, and us, understand if you are eligible.

Please have your application number on hand when contacting Council regarding your application.

Before proceeding, please confirm the following:

1. Nominees must be a resident of Whitsunday Regional Council at the time of the nomination.

2. Nominations will not be accepted if the individual or group has won an award the previous year.

3. All nominations must be received via the official nomination process.

4. All nominations must meet the age requirement as specified in the individual award category.

5. Contact details of nominators may be forwarded on to local media.

6. A person who is deemed to have acted in a manner contrary to Council values will not be eligible.
